The four C's

Image
What? On the 20/3/18 I attended a Google event at Noel Leaming PN. The Google leader shared the importance of the 4 C's critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. So what?  Because our learning environment has changed so much, what is important in our learning has also developed. The 4 C's were not important going back in the 90's, however, they are vital for students as they leave school in today's society. Side note: The SAMR model is model for the level and skill we are using technology.  What now?  Shifting what is important in education is a must.  The New Tech NZC asks for us to have: Computational thinking & Design and develop digital outcomes.  Using technology such as Shepro's and chromebooks is a must in order for us to engage in the new NZC tech

What does it mean? Ako (means, study, learning etc).  Reciprocal learning with Whanau, Students, and Teacher  Outcome:   All three parties are involved and considered when planning and designing our course. (partnership with our learning).  What are the outcomes for learners? Feel valued and they can throw themselves into the learning because as it is shared it is valued.  What are outcomes for whanau? Whanau become more passionate about child's education -Monrad Mana.  What does it look like at Monrad (our context)? Whanau coming into the school grounds, contributing to our course (what they think is important to have in our curriculum. Students feel open to share their.  culture.  Monrad Mana  Facebook, our apps.  A survey, how many families have access to the internet.
